Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Turkmenistan; and Uzbekistan recorded a steady increase in the volume of foreign trade over the years. The main export destinations include Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Turkey and Kyrgyzstan. Imports usually come from China, Russia, South Korea, Kazakhstan and Turkey. As of 2019, Uzbekistan has established trade relations with more than 140 countries and signed trade agreements with 45 countries. In 2020, the country became an observer of the Eurasian Economic Union, although Uzbekistan is not yet a member of the WTO and the country is working towards accession. In addition, the UAE and Uzbekistan have agreed to expand their partnership to increase the size and investment in trade textiles, renewable energy, infrastructure and agriculture.
