The “Sea-Rail Intermodal B Insurance China-Europe Railway Express” service has been launched in Yiwu, Zhejiang Province.
China News Service, Yiwu, March 24 (Dong Yixin, Jin Jiaming) On March 24, the "Sea-Rail Intermodal + Bonded Area + China-Europe Train" business was launched in Yiwu, Zhejiang. On the same day, a batch of bicycle parts worth $270,000 arrived at Ningbo Zhoushan Port by sea, were transported by rail to Yiwu Railway Port, seamlessly connected to short-haul trucks, and transferred to Yiwu Bonded Logistics Center for customs clearance. Subsequently, this batch of goods will be transshipped to Germany via the China-Europe train.
According to estimates by relevant departments, compared to the traditional direct road drag mode, this model can save about 10% of transportation costs and has basically the same transportation efficiency as traditional road transport, achieving "same-day delivery" or "next-day delivery".
"This breakthrough is the result of Yiwu Bonded Logistics Center focusing on enterprise needs and coordinating efforts with Yiwu Customs, the local market development committee, railways, cross-border e-commerce companies, and others," said a relevant person in charge at Yiwu Bonded Logistics Center. After imported goods enter through Ningbo Zhoushan Port, they are quickly transferred to the bonded area for storage via railway, allowing flexible distribution to the domestic market or direct access to Europe and Central Asia, basically forming a "come in, transfer smoothly, and pass quickly" two-way open pattern.
It is reported that to promote the implementation of this model, Yiwu Bonded Logistics Center has conducted in-depth research on enterprise needs, focusing on reducing logistics costs and improving supply chain stability, optimizing processes such as "container pickup at the terminal—sea-rail transport—bonded entry—Yiwu container return", and enhancing coordination efficiency at each stage. On the other hand, it has collaborated with the railway port company to open up key links such as heavy container return, railway dispatch, and short-haul trucking, achieving smooth full-process connection.
